A traditional Russian tea, made from crushed thyme. From time immemorial this aromatic plant has been brewed as a tea in Russia. The young shoots and leaves of thyme are used in salads and as a spice for meat, fish, and vegetable dishes, and are likewise added to sauces and beverages, included in pickling, and used to season game dishes. "Thyme" herbal tea:
- helps bronchites, coughing, and whooping cough due to its expectorant and antiinflammatory properties;
- is taken for gastric and intestinal spasms, meteorism, bad digestion, and constipation. It likewise increases the production of gastric juices and normalizes intestinal microflora;
- is taken in extract form as an oral rinse for gingivitis, nasopharynx, and halitosis;
- when used as a bath helps with rheumatism, radiculitis, diathesis, and bruises.
